Rome Wasn't Built in A Day

It is time for me to become ACCOUNTABLE! I am trusting you. I'm not exactly comfortable with this, but it NEEDS to be done. It is time for me to loose weight. It will happen. I have to make it happen. I have a crappy work schedule, so it's hard for me to have a regular work buddy, go to bed early, etc. However, I can start doing small things now. For myself. I am starting off small, but I am starting. Each week I will be posting a weekly goal. The next week I will also let you know if I accomplished it or not. If I do not, I give you full permission to deck me! Full on punch to the face. So, here I am, taking my first step.

My Goal: Take the stairs at work every day (That's 5 stories, Tues-Sat).

Blind Date

Okay. . . Ha ha! So Friday I went on my first blind date. . . I can easily say that it was THE WORST date of my life. All I am going to say is that guys should know how to treat girls. Oh, and you should talk to her (Duh!). . .

Well, my Friday night was made up thanks to my AMAZING best friends! They are the best! I love them SO much!!!

My Happy Post

As opposed to my depressing, downer post on Monday.

I have a few things to be happy about, and I'll share them (whether you want me to or not).

  • Geoff's Seminary Graduation! Can I get a "Hollar"? I am SO proud of my brother. I do love him, even though I don't always show it. And I am glad we're related! I know, call up the papers, I've admitted it!

  • DISNEYLAND! Yep, you read that right! My first road trip with just a friend and myself. I'm excited (and I can't believe I'm 20 and this is my first road trip without supervision...LOSER...)!

  • Summer weather!!! I have learned that I LOVE hiking when there is a view! Ha ha! Last summer I hiked Ensign Peak and watched the sunset and the city lights turn on. What a great way to end a day! If you ever want to go, call me! :)

  • Running. At the moment it doesn't make me happy, but I have come to the conclusion that I WILL be a runner, and I WILL love it!

Well, that is my happy post....

Downer...

No one likes a downer, and unfortunately that is me today so I will keep my post short.

Have you ever had a day where you just want to curl up in a ball and not go anywhere for the rest of your life? I have, again, that is today. I don't know what has brought it on, but today is just not a fantastic day. Honestly, there is no reason why today shouldn't be a good day, but it's not!

Anyway, later this week I'll post happier thoughts and joyous things, but today I will be the person that nobody likes, a downer...

New Chapter in the Life of Kat!

Today I realized it's May of 2011!!!! MAY! I can't believe it! We're almost half way done with 2011! Where has it gone? Hopefully the rest of the year doesn't fly by. I'd like to enjoy it a little bit!

A few things in my life are new right now:

  • Ward and Stake

  • Semester (at work)

  • Hobbies

  • Girl's Camp

Well. . . the list was a LOT longer in my head appearently! I am really excited to get my life going (again)!

Yesterday I met with my new bishop. This guy is fantastic! I can't wait to get to know him better! I think that he is just the kind of bishop I need in my life right now. Oh, and he's hilarious!

New semester means new work schedule! YUCK! Although my summer hours are horrible, I will be making $$$$$$$!!! Thank goodness! Maybe I will be able to get my butt to school this fall. If I do, I will have a party! You're all invited to my house for cake! :)

HOBBIES!!!! New and improved: Kat style! Well, I don't know if this is really super, but it seems to be taking over my life right now. I am a knitter (I hope that's a word, and if not, I'm joining the staff at Webster's)! I've only made one scarf, but I finished it in two days, and I'm on to the next one. Etsy shop maybe???? Ha ha! Maybe not, but we'll see.

Last, but certainly not least: Girl's Camp!!!! *cheers, applaudes, etc!* Now, if only I could get all my girls that excited! Although, I so have a few amazing ones! I'm excited to get to know them! As a part of this calling, I have the pleasure of planning a hike. I am excited, really! :) I started planning it a few weeks ago, THRILLED!!! Unfortunately, I went to grab the plan to add more quotes and it was gone. I swear it vanished into thin air! I can't find it anywhere. So, I'm starting fresh! Luckily I don't need it until June 8th.

Ah, the life of a 20-something-y/o!

Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy!!!

I can't believe how fast this year is going!!!

As most of you know, I have been in the Relief Society presidency in my ward. I have now been in it for 6 months!!! CrAzY! Ha ha! Just as I was getting comfortable, and really getting the hang of it (isn't it funny how that's how it usually is?), the church announced that they are getting rid of all student wards/ branches in the state! Along with being put in a new ward, I will no longer be in my home stake. Yes, I am sad, but I am also SUPER excited to move on with my life and find out what the Lord has in store for me! Because of this, what will I be preparing for?

Isn't it great?

In other news, I had my first SYCA meeting yesterday. . . Two words: Choir Tour. Yes, I only had one girl show up! However, she is AMAZING, and she will be blessed for showing up! Hopefully at my next meeting I will have a group of about 23 there and excited! :)

My Summer 2011 Style!

I love how the Lord works. At the end of Oakcrest I was SUPER excited to reapply again, but I knew that I was not supposed to be there. I was slightly depressed. What was I supposed to do with my summer now? I had the best summer of my life there, and I wanted another one. Then it came to me: Stake Girl's Camp. I knew I had to be there. I made myself known that I would be available this summer to help if they needed me. Yesterday I got the call! I am the SYCA(Stake Youth Camp Assistant) Leader!!! I've always loved the SYCAs!!! I'm excited to get them pumped and excited for camp! I couldn't have asked for anything better! Unfortunately the SYCAs have been dwindling. No one seems to be excited to be one, and I hope that will change this year. So, having said that, if any of you have ideas of how to get 16/17 year-olds excited about going to camp and being with people their age in the stake, please, let me know! I would love any advice you have to give!

My Ode to Peanut Butter

Ode to Peanut Butter, you sticky fiend,
When you're smooth you're better than if you're over beaned.
I like you by yourself, and I like you covered in chocolate,
But you'll NEVER catch me putting you on my breakfast omelette.
When I was a kid, I ate you up with jelly,
I did not care if homemade or made by super deli.
You'll always be a comfort food, I know that much is true.
I'll eat you forever and always no matter my IQ.

Thanks for the idea, Megan.

Rainbow and Butterflies

With it being a new year (and me not blogging since August) I figured that I should post something. I know this post is probably a bore to the four of you who follow me, so I am going to start an experiment, and please don't feel obligated. :) Ha ha! Anyway, the experiment: if there is something you want me to write about, comment below and tell me. It would be great for me. I only am creative every once in a while, if you can't tell from this blog. I just think it would be fun to write about things that I might not have really thought of before.

Well, I hope you all have a lovely day, wherever you may be.
